Follow the trail until you find a clearing in El Palmar. Stop for a moment.

Then you walk through a dense forest of uvita cane. This palm forms dense agglomerations of rods with long spines that produce a small, purple, very acid fruit that is appreciated by the locals to make an exquisite and refreshing juice.
